Mary said, “Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord.
May it be done to me according to your word. “
Luke 1:38
The Yes that caused all other Yes’s. Mary accepted Gods message, to hold and bear and raise His son, so that you and I might live and not perish. (John 3:16). Imagine you, 14,13 year old girl, sitting in prayer, a poor humble servant, and angel of The Lord appears. How scared and frightening that must be! Mary asks a question or two, but then realizes that she “is the handmaid of The Lord”. Do we ever feel in our lives that God is working through us for someone else? Are we open to that? “Be done to me according to thy word”. What a beautiful, simple prayer. A complete trust in God. Mary is a perfect example of who we are all called to be. Obviously God is not going to appear to us and be like ” you are having my Son”, but maybe He is trying to say something else. Maybe He is trying to move in our lives. Be open to His will. Listen. Be open to the will of God. Have complete trust in Him. Be more like Mary, a humble servant for loved The Lord with all she was. I suggest you listen to the song ” New Again by Sara Adams and Brad Prasiley. “. Amen!
